Some individuals and corporations live in fear of an audit. Now, Rep. Ron Paul (R-Texas) may be instilling the same fear in the folks at the Federal Reserve.
In a piece for Forbes, Dr. Paul calls for the Federal Reserve to be audited. He writes that the fed’s actions have been harmful to Americans, and that an audit is needed to fully understand its impact:
“The necessary first step to restoring economic stability in this country is to audit the Fed, to find out the multitude of sectors in which it has involved itself and, once the audit has been completed, to analyze the results and determine how the Fed should be reined in.”
Dr. Paul would also like to see the Federal Reserve dismantled. That’s not going to happen anytime soon, but perhaps an audit is the right thing to do.
