Opening Day at the K

Today is the Kansas City Royals home opener, as the team takes on the New York Yankees at 3:10 p.m. (great competition, lousy weather).

From a source inside Kaufmann Stadium, here are a few pics of the newly renovated stadium. These were taken shortly before the open house last week…

A view from the box seats on the left field side (Is this the George Brett suite? ...I think so. I've been told this is an incredible suite).

The new stadium is beaufitful, bu the view of the outfield stands/concourse has definitely changed (I kinda liked just having the grass and fountains)

I am certainly looking forward to watching a few games at the K this year. The team is supposed to be decent (I know, we’ve heard that before, but who knows, it could be true this year), and, well, it’s baseball.

More shots of the K here, at the Royals official website.
