Principally Political is a conservative political blog and the expression of my passion for politics and the written word. I hope readers find information, insight and entertainment here.

The site is a platform to contribute to public discussion of current events while developing my writing and experimenting with online media tools. Having participated at one level or another with several blogs over the years, I am excited to now establish, maintain and develop the editorial and creative direction of my own site.

Drawing on my work experiences in Missouri and Kansas politics over several years, I hope to report and comment on current events with insight uniquely valuable to engaged citizens and genuine politicos. As a movement conservative, I also hope to approach the issues from a principled yet practical perspective.

As the site’s name implies, stories will focus on politics but may occasionally venture into entertainment, lifestyle, literature, pop culture and other areas of personal interest. The name is also meant to convey my belief that many social and economic events and trends, are, quite often, principally political. That is, politics, broadly understood, tends to permeate societal life, upon careful observation. This is a concept I need to refine and expand on, but that’s the general idea.
